Release of IMDA Service Identification for Broadcasters & Aggregators

Part of our mission statement is to “promote a set of open, interoperable standards” – and today we would like to announce availability of our “IMDA Service Identification for Broadcasters & Aggregators” specification.

The Service Identification describes a way for a broadcaster, or media organisation, to expose their data to a hardware or software solution run by a third party. The data from the media organisation contains details of itself, its brands and its brands’ transport methods. The Newsletter can be viewed here.

Summary of the IMDA meetings in Paris along with a report from our Technical Committee.

This Newsletter summarizes our meetings last month in Paris and includes a report from our Technical Committee. We will have our next IMDA Summit in September of 2010. The Summit will coincide with IBC which takes place in Amsterdam on September 9-14th. Details to follow as to what day we are having the event. The Newsletter can be viewed here.

Summary of the IMDA meetings at the EBU in Geneva

This Newsletter summarizes our February meetings at the EBU in Geneva where the IMDA collaborated with members of organizations involved in the use of open standards for the delivery of digital radio in Europe. IMDA Announces Metadata Guidelines for Internet Broadcasters

Cambridge, UK, 3^rd December, 2009 – The Internet Media Device Alliance has announced the creation of guidelines for internet radio station metadata.

Our initial Metadata Guidelines will be released at the IMDA’s General Assembly meeting to be held on January 8th, 2010 (8:00am–1:00pm) during CES, Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Hotel and it is open to all people interested in the works of the IMDA.

IMDA announces global certification standard for internet radios

IFA Show, Berlin, Germany, 7th September 2009 – The Internet Media Device
Alliance (IMDA) has announced a baseline certification standard for standalone
internet radio players. Called IMDA Profile 1, the standard aims to protect
consumers by aligning competing technologies and future-proofing internet
radio product design.
